Allen T. "T-Bone" Tee

January 1, 1938 ~ June 15, 2019 (age 81)

Allen L. "T-Bone" Tee, age 81, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 7:03 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa. He was born on January 1, 1938 in  Louisa County, Iowa, the son of Elmer A. and Belva I. (Ashby) Tee. 

Allen was educated in Henderson County, attending a one room school in his early years and graduating from G&O High School in 1955.

Allen proudly served his County with the United States Navy from 1955-1958. He served as a SeaBee and was discharged with the rank of E-4. Allen, while serving, was a member of the Navy Drill Team.

On May 6, 1960, Allen married Lois M. Anderson in Gladstone, Illinois and she is surviving.

Allen and his father Elmer owned and operated Tee's Standard Service in Oquawka, Illinois. He later owned his own trucking business and later retired as a driver for Walmart. Allen was especially proud of the fact that he logged over 3 million miles accident free. Allen enjoyed racing at the 34 Raceway, gardening, woodworking, mechanical work, and motorcycles. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini. Most of all, Allen loved his grandchildren and his family. 

Allen is survived by his wife Lois of Oquawka, Illinois; two sons, David Tee of Oquawka, Illinois and Darren (Jennifer) Tee of Mahomet, Illinois; five grandchildren, Courtney Tee and Preston Tee of Houston, Texas, Caroline Tee, Andrew Tee, and Gwen Tee of Mahomet, Illinois. Also surviving are two sisters; Iona LaVeine of Burlington, Iowa and Karen (John) Parkins of Oquawka, Illinois, and one brother; Ronald "Red" Tee of Oquawka, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alvin Tee. 

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. The family will be present from 9:30-11:00 to receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will be given to conclude the service. A memorial fund is being established for Faith Bible Church in Oquawka, Illinois.
