Helen K. White

Helen K. White, age 73, of Galesburg, Illinois; passed away at 12:37 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her Galesburg residence. Helen was born on November 17, 1946 in Monmouth and is the daughter of Lee T. and Annabel F. Rule White, Jr. She was raised in rural Monmouth where she attended school and she graduated from Warren High School in 1964. She began work at the Italian Village in Monmouth for a time and was a homemaker. She then attended Carl Sandburg College where she attained her certification as a Certified Nurses Assistant and has been employed at Cottage Hospital for over twenty years. Helen loved all animals and very much her family. She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society. Surviving are two sons, John D. Noonan (Amy) of DesMoines, Iowa and Jim D. Noonan (Angie) of Galesburg, Illinois. One granddaughter survives, Ava Jane "A.J." Noonan and two sisters, Pat Myers of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Barbara White of Monmouth, Illinois. Her brother Lee T. "Bud" White III (Carol) of Galesburg, Illinois is also surviving. Preceding her in death are her parents and her son, John Noonan.

A gathering of her family and her friends is planned on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial fund is being established for the Western Illinois Animal Rescue. Interment of her ashes will be in Monmouth Cemetery at a later date.
