Jeannette I. Brough

Jeannette I. "Netty" Brough, age 67, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 10:07 PM on Friday, June 1, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. She was born October 1, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Timothy Edwin and Esther Louise (Kies) Vargason. 

Jeannette attended school in Troy Mills, Iowa and graduated from North Linn High School. She later attended Kirkwood Community College where she obtain a degree in Floriculture. Lastly, Jeannette attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois where she obtained two additional Associates Degrees.  

On March 4, 1972, Jeannette married Ronald C. Brough in the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth, Illinois. Ron preceded her in death on May 25, 2018.

Jeannette worked at many places over her career. Ginny's Cafe in Monmouth, Mr. Quick in Monmouth, Smoller's and Western Stoneware in Monmouth. She lastly worked production at Admiral/Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois until the plants closing.

Jeannette enjoyed flowers, vegetable gardening, and reading. Her family remembers her as a selfless person who often thought of others before herself. Mostly, Jeannette loved her family.

Jeannette is survived by one daughter; Jennifer (Shawn) Admire of Monmouth, Illinois, one son; Jeremy Brough of Monmouth, Illinois, and three grandsons; Dakota, Skylar, and Tristin Admire. She is also survived by one sister; Janet (Larry) Bolton of Tucson, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ron, one brother, Fred Vargason, and one sister, Deanna Vargason.

As were Jeannette's wishes, cremation is being accorded. No services are currently planned.
