Sarah Standard

Sarah "Sally" Standard, age 99, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 12:49 PM on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois. Sally was born on April 8, 1920 in Warren, Tennessee, the daughter of C.M. and Lizzie May (Oaks) Jones. She was raised in Union County in Southern Illinois and attended local schools through High School. Sally married Guy W. Standard on February 18, 1939 in Dongola, Illinois and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2001. Sally was a secretary for many years in Lemont, Illinois where she and was employed by Ceco Steel. They then moved to Reidland, Kentucky where she was a member of Reidland Methodist Church.  

Surviving her is one son, Jim Standard and Rae Ann of Monmouth, Illinois, two grandsons, Jeff Standard of Toledo, Illinois and Guy Standard and Paula of Gilbert, Arizona. Two granddaughters are surviving, Sarah Gagliano and Ken of Plano, Texas and Kim Schure and Donald of Plainfield, Illinois. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren. Sally's brother is surviving, James T. Jones in Peducah, Kentucky. Preceding Sally in her death are her parents, husband, one son Max Standard, her grandson, James A. Standard, and her brother C.M. Jones. 

A graveside funeral service is planned on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Anna Cemetery in Anna, Illinois at 1:30 PM. No visitation or funeral service is planned locally.
