Alicia A. Pallister, age 59, of Burlington, Iowa passed away at 4:22 pm on Saturday August 21, 2021 at the University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa where she was a patient in the ICU ward for several days. Alicia died due to complication associated with liver disease. Alicia was born on February 12. 1062 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Robert Thomas and Carol Ann Bielser Peterson. Alicia attended elementary and middle schools in Gladstone, IL and graduated from Union High School in 1980. She participated in cheer leading and volleyball at Union. She then attended and graduated from Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL with a business degree in 1984. She was married to Mick Pulse of Stronghurst, Illinois for several years. They later divorced. Alicia started her working career at Case Corporation in Burlington, Iowa in the accounting department for about a one-years period. She then went to work in advertising sales & marketing. She had a successful career in sales over a thirty-year period having won several marketing awards and trips. She last worked for MediaCom in Burlington, Iowa. Alicia was married to Ron Pallister, Wapello, IA for several years. Theirs was an active marriage. They were married aboard a helicopter in Las Vegas, NV; they followed NASCAR racing in their motor home,and loved boating on Lake of Ozarks, MO. She drove a couple of times in a " Powder Puff " derby race held at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington. She enjoyed taking her nephews and grandkids to Adventure Land. Alicia is survived by her parents Robert and Carol Peterson, brothers Joel (Sandy) Peterson of Oquawka and Nicolas (Kris) Peterson of rural Gladstone, and nieces and nephews, Arley Peterson, Emily Stpgdill, Seth Peterson and Riley Peterson. She is preceded in her death by both of her maternal and paternal grandparents; Uncles Robert and Dean Bielser, Uncle Clarence Peterson, Aunts, Ethel Skees and Charlotte Foster. Alicia has two close friends she enjoyed spending time with Peg Moore and Janie Neff.
A funeral service is planned on Thursday August 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, Illinois. Cremation will then be accorded. Her family plans to be at the funeral home on Thursday for visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service. A memorial fund is being planned by her family.
