Carol Shinn Obituary

Carol A. Shinn, age 72, of Monmouth, passed away at 6:38 pm on Tuesday March 24, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Carol was born on November 5, 1947 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the daughter of Lloyd A. and Clarise E. Johnson Shinn. Carol was raised in Monmouth where she attended Public Schools and then graduated from Monmouth High School in 1965. Carol has been a cook her entire career and cooked many years at Melings Restaurant here Monmouth, Illinois  She later cooked at Cottage Corner in Monmouth for many years until she retired. Carol loved crafting and craft shows, and often went to craft shows in Illinois with her aunt, Dorothy Johnson. Carol always loved and took care of her pets, cats and dogs. Carol is survived by her sister, Betty Davis (Joseph) of Ottumwa, Iowa and two nieces, Julie Davis of Sigourney, Iowa and Debbie Derby (Terry) of Ottumwa, Iowa. She has two great nephews, Cooper and Parker Derby.  Three cousins are also surviving, Connie, Bobbie, and Laurie.  She is preceded in her death by her parents and her Aunt Dorothy Johnson.
