Carrolee E. Schulze, age 98, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away at 5:00 am at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Carrolee was born on March 19, 1922 in Macomb, Illinois and is the daughter of Charles and Mertie Whitmore Shaner. Carrolee E. Schulze, age 98, of Gladstone, Illinois; passed away at 5:00 am at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois on Thursday, December 31, 2020. Carrolee was born on March 19, 1922 in Macomb, Illinois and is the daughter of Charles and Mertie Whitmore Shaner. She was raised in the Rozetta and Biggsville area in Henderson County and attended the Biggsville High School. She married John H. Schulze on September 20, 1940 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in his death on February 9, 1989. Carrolee was first employed at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa. After that she worked at Sylvania in Burlington, Iowa and lastly was employed at Antennea Craft in West Burlington until she retired. She was a member of the Gladstone United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling and watching the "Food" Channel on television, She also enjoyed doing crafts and working with ceramics. 

She is survived by her son, Jerry A. Schulze and Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and her daughter in law, Karen Schulze of Gladstone, Illinois.  There are five grandchildren, Daren ( Rene) Schulze, Jay Schulze, Denise (Rick) Bigger, Andrea (Jeff) Moeller, and Aaron (Meghan) Schulze.   There are five great grandchildren, Amber Bigger, Jonathan Schulze, Abby Schulze, Cooper Huckabone, and Emma Huckabone.  She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband John, son Robert, seven brothers and four sisters. 

Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and the Holiday, no service and/or visitation is currently being planned by her family. Cremation is being accorded and her ashes will be interred next to her husband in Biggsville Cemetery at a later date.A memorial fund is being established for the Oaklane Caregivers and Staff who took such good care of Carrolee.
