Charlotte Foster Obituary

Charlotte Kay Foster, age 75, of Gladstone Illinois passed away at home on November 11, 2020 at 5:18 pm surrounded by her family.  Charlotte was born on May 28, 1945 in Gladstone, Illinois to Earl Raymond and Frances Pauline Krow Bielser.  She attended local schools in Gladstone and Union High School.  Charlotte married Wilber “Larry” Foster on March 16, 1963 in Biggsville, Illinois.  She worked as a cashier at Country Fun in Biggsville for many years and then became an aide at Rosebush Gardens Assisted Living in Burlington, Iowa for several years.  Charlotte dearly loved working with the residents at Rosebush Gardens and was a favorite among them, keeping in touch with many after leaving her position.  She was known to be fun loving with a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh.  Many loved ones have said that they will always remember her laugh.  Charlotte was an excellent cook, enjoyed crossword puzzles and true crime television shows, and was a true animal lover with a special connection to her little grand-dog Rocco.  Her friends will also remember her for her ability to find a bargain every time she went shopping.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.  Charlotte is survived by her husband, Larry Foster of Gladstone, her daughter Stacey Foster of Burlington, Iowa, her granddaughter, Erin Foster and great granddaughter, Oaklee Foster, both of New London, Iowa.  Also surviving are her sisters, Carol Peterson of Gladstone, Illinois and Connie Hull of Monmouth, Illinois.  Two of her brothers, Earl “Sonny” Bielser of Monmouth, Illinois and Ronnie Bielser of Gladstone are also surviving along with numerous special nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death were her son, Brian E. Foster, her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Dean Bielser.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the recommendation of the Center for Disease Control, face coverings and social distancing is to be observed.  Friends may call and pay their respects to Charlotte at Turnbull Funeral Home in Oquawka, IL on Thursday November 19th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  No visitation or service hour is planned by her family.  Cremation will follow after the hours on Thursday.  Memorial funds have been established for either Western Illinois Animal Rescue or the Henderson County Health Department.
