January 24, 2021 6:39 PMAmy and Todd were here to swim and we relived some memories of being neighbors with you guys. I recalled the time Cheryl hit me in the head with a golf shot.
We were playing out of town. Cheryl was in a sand trap in front of the green. She and Nancy rode in a cart and Steve and I rode together. Cheryl and Nancy were chatting up a storm (as usual) and I was on the back part of the green. Since they were talking, I didn't know that Cheryl was hitting her sand shot... until I heard her say "Oh, Oh, Mark!" The shot was a high one and I never saw it coming. It beaned me on the top of the head.
Nancy said the color drained from my face. All I remember is slowly falling to my knees and then on all fours. Cheryl kept saying "Oh, Oh, Oh!!!" and never moved from the trap. When Steve and Nancy got to me, I told them I thought I was OK. It took me a minute and I regained my senses. By then I think Cheryl was in tears, but we were laughing because I should have known that a golf game never interfered with Cheryl and Nancy gabbing.
We laughed a lot with you guys.
Lots of great memories. That was just one.
