Christina Sophie (Scott) Scott

Christina Sophie Scott, age 102, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 8:55 am on June 24, 2020 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Sophie was born on March 23, 1918 in Alexis, Illinois and is the daughter of Andrew Peterson and Kiestine (Tholand) Scott. She was raised in Henderson and attended rural school in the Rozetta and Little York area of Henderson County. Sophie first worked at Hawcock's in the Salad Department, and later was Receiving Clerk at Woolworths of Monmouth where she worked for thirty years. Sophie loved to travel and visit her family, nieces and nephews. She also loved crocheting and doing handwork. 
She is survived by her sister, Audrey Greenstreet of Galesburg, IL; and five nephews and four nieces, Stephen Greenstreet and Mary Beth of Galesburg, IL; Jeanette Wooldridge and Wayne of Galesburg, IL; David Geer and Suzanne of Monmouth, IL; Shirley Pickrel and Dennis of Galesburg, IL; Donna Morris and Richard of Collierville, TN; Kenneth Geer and Donna of Sparta, TN; Charles Geer and Gloria of Monmouth, IL; James Geer and Jackie of Milan, IL; and Pamela Geer of Muscatine, IA. Numerous Great Nieces and Nephews and Great Great Nieces and Nephews are also surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents, one infant brother, Christian, her niece Marlene, and her sister, Anna Geer. 

A funeral service is planned on Monday June 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at Turnbull Funeral Home of Monmouth, Illinois. Her family plans a visitation at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30 am to 11:00am. Interment will be in the Monmouth Cemetery.
