David R. St. Ledger, age 60, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Emergency Room in Peoria, Illinois. David was born on June 22, 1959 in Monmouth, Illinois and is the son of Dean and Nancy Burke St. Ledger. He was raised and educated in Monmouth where he attended Immaculate Conception School and then graduated from Monmouth High School in 1976. David has always been a kind and loving son and brother to all of his family. He was first employed for a time at Zimmer's Drug Store owned by Jim Vugteveen and later with the "Green Army" maintenance crew at Monmouth College. David was active in Boy Scouts and nearly attained the rank of Eagle Scout. David also loved all sorts of music and the Beatles and especially music from the 1970's and 80's. He loved to watch the show "Star Trek". David is survived by his parents, Nancy and Dean St. Ledger of Monmouth, his sister, Aileen St. Ledger of Grays Lake, Illinois and two brothers, Raymond St. Ledger of Olympia, Washington and Kevin St. Ledger of Phoenix, Arizona. He is preceded in his death by his grandparents and his sister, Alisa Coleen St. Ledger.
In accordance with the implemented directives of the Center for Disease Control, A Rosary will be recited and a private graveside funeral service to follow at St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery. No family visitation or gathering is planned at the funeral home, at this time. Friends may call at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, on Tuesday and Wednesday until the hour of services. Being listed as honorary pallbearers by his family are Raymond St. Ledger, Kevin St. Ledger, Keith Burke, Paul St. Ledger, and Chuck Dixon. A memorial fund will be established later.
