Dorothy J. (McDaniel) Lankford

Dorothy J. Lankford, age 89, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 5:40 am on November 22, 2021 at Marigold Nursing Home. Dorothy was born in Drumright, Oklahoma February 7, 1932 and is the daughter of William T. and Martha Mullin McDaniel. She was raised and attended Elementary School in Drumright, Oklahoma. She later graduated from Drumright High School with the class of 1950. Dorothy first married David Kemmerly on August 12, 1951and he passed away on April 12, 1954. She later married Lyle E. Lankford on June 16, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois and he passed away on November 17, 1992. Dorothy was employed as a Nurse's Aide for 19 years at St. Marys Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. Dorothy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has been active in many of her church's activities. Dorothy also loved to read and was an avid reader. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Marston and Gary of Oquawka, Illinois, Victoria Coppage of Wichita, Kansas, and Sandra Connell in Arizona.    She is preceded in her death by her parents, husbands, and her son, Larry Eugene Lankford. 

A graveside service for Dorothy Lankford is planned on Monday at 10:30 am November 29, 2021 at the graveside in East Linwood Cemetery next to her husband, Lyle Lankford. No visitation hours are currently planned, but a memorial fund is established for Alzheimers.
