Gerald Albert " Jerry " Brunswig, age 75, of Milan, IL, passed away at 8:13 am on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home. Jerry was born on October 24, 1945 in Moline, Illinois and is the son Henry Adam and Helen Louise Boatman Brunswig. As a child his family lived in various communities where he was reared, educated, and attended high school. Jerry was a union carpenter and was employed as such for many years, being a member of the carpenter's union. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Brunswig of Franklin, Tennessee, Jessica and Brett Smith of Iowa City, Iowa, and Jennifer and Brandon Goerlich of Versailles, Illinois. One son survives, Dwayne and Marcy Brunswig of Monmouth. There are five grandchildren, Callie Brunswig in Springfield, IL; Mallorie and Amber Brunswig of Monmouth, Illinois; and Gretta and Paisleigh Goerlich of Versailles, Illinois. Two step grandsons survive, Cohen and Hudson Smith in Iowa City, Iowa. Also surviving are four brothers, Danny and Christine Brunswig of Altona, Illinois, Wayne and Mary Brunswig of Oquawka, Illinois; Bruce Brunswig of Galesburg, Illinois; Keith Brunswig of Kirkwood, Ilinois There are three sisters, Bonnie and Mark Trone of Galesburg, Illinois; Holly and Harvey Taflinger of Cameron, Illinois; and Elaine and Rick Boyd of Monmouth, Illinois.
A private graveside funeral service is planned at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Silent Home Home Cemetery in Cameron, Illinois. Friends may call at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth all day on Friday, November 27th as there is no planned visitation or receiving by his family due to Covid 19 restrictions. Recommendations by the CDC are to be observed. A memorial fund is being established by his family.
