Gloria J. Jones

Gloria J. Jones, age 72, of Biggsville, Illinois passed away at 6:25 am on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. Gloria was born on August 28, 1947 in Burlington, Iowa and is the daughter of Parker Wayne and Ermadean May Denly Hull. She was raised and educated in Biggsville where she attended school and graduated in 1965 from Union High School. Gloria was happily married to Frank Jones on June 28, 1967 in Biggsville, Illinois and he is surviving. Gloria is a homemaker in her own home and served as the Biggsville Village Treasurer for a number of years. She is a long time member of the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee and as its church custodian. She is also a member and chairman of the Ladies Aid of the Church. Gloria enjoyed traveling to Estes Park, Colorado with her family. Gloria was known to be a top-notch cookie baker by her family. Surviving are two sons, Brian (Scott Arthofer) Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Mark (Shawna) Jones of Waterloo, Illinois. Her grandchildren, Parker and Safia Jones are surviving and her brother, Bill (Sharon) Hull of Galesburg, Illinois. Her sister in law, Nancy Hull of Biggsville, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins are surviving. She is preceded in her death by her parents and her brother, Ed Hull. 

A funeral service is planned on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church in Biggsville, Illinois where her family plans visitation and will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be in the Biggsville Township Cemetery on Thursday following the funeral service. A memorial fund is being established for the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church.
