Janet Foust Obituary

Janet Ann Foust, 82, passed away peacefully on January 9th.2024 at 12:14 am in Henderson, Nevada. Born on September 18th, 1941 in Chicago Illinois, she is the daughter of  Lenel and Rita Kane Michelin. Janet graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1960. Janet married Gary Richard Foust on March 23, 1963 at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach, California. Together they had two children, Lisa and Doug. Janet’s full time job was raising her two children. She adored children and also worked various jobs in childcare both directly with families and in child care facilities. One of her favorite jobs was working for the Keen family, helping to raise quadruplets and their older sister.
Janet and Gary spent their retirement years living in Illinois close to family and friends where she continued to baby sit for friends and family. It was in Illinois where Janet got to spend lots of time with the eight Lester Girls and she was considered their 9th sister. You might find Janet helping Joan with her antique business or find her at the American Legion socializing on Taco Tuesday. She was a social butterfly. Every year Janet, Gary, and Gary's sisters, Donna and Kathy, would go on a summer road trip adventure. Most of all, Janet loved traveling by train, whether it was a quick trip to Chicago to go shopping at Marshall Fields or a cross country trip to California and Nevada to visit her children and grandson. She was always ready for a train adventure. Janet spent her last years living in Nevada close to her children at an assisted living facility where she was loved by all.
Janet is survived by her children Lisa(Steve) Leviton, Doug Foust, and a grandson Brian Leviton. Janet was predeceased by her parents Lenel and Rita Michelin and her husband Gary Foust.
