Joseph R. Stivers

Joseph R. Stivers, age 56, of Monmouth, passed away at his residence in Oquawka, Illinois on Monday October 25, 2021 at 6:10 pm. Joe was born on November 30, 1964 in Monmouth, and is the son of John R. "Jack" and Rilla C. Lefler Stivers.. He was raised in Monmouth where he attended local schools and Union High School. Joseph also joined the local Army Reserve which he served for a number of years and subsequently earned his General. Joe was first married to Erin Dowell and she passed in 2019.  He later married Kim Logsdon and they divorced.  Joe worked for Wells Pet Food in Monmouth for a number of years, and later was employed by his father, " Jack " in their family construction business, Stivers Construction Company until his retirement. Joseph especially loved his pet dog, "Moosie".  Joe is survived by his son, Devin Stivers and Jamie of Quincy, Illinois and three step daughters Sheneetha, Andrea, and Beth. His sister survives, Susan Wright and Robert of Oquawka, and his brother, John R. Stivers and Vickie also of Oquawka, Illinois. There are three Nephews and one Niece also surviving. He is preceded in his death by his parents and several uncles and aunts.  
As were his wishes cremation is being accorded and his family plans a celebration of his life at Mama's Place in Oquawka at 2:00 pm on November 14, 2021. No visitation, viewing, or interment of ashes is currently planned.by his family. .
