Leonard D. Fesler

Leonard D. Fesler, age 69, of Cameron, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 A.M. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 6, 1949 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of George Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Mackey) Fesler. Leonard attended and graduated from Warren High School. He proudly served his Country with the United States Army. Leonard served as an M-P during the Vietnam conflict. On April 3, 1982, he married Cindy Weir at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving. Leonard worked the family farm for many years with his brother until the early 1990's. He then worked as a farm hand for Doug Cruce Farms and Tom Parrish Farms. Leonard enjoyed tinkering, machinery, cutting firewood for the woodstove, and International Harvester Tractors. He loved to attend tractor shows. Leonard also loved gardening, and couldn't wait for sweet potato digging. Leonard is survived by his wife Cindy at home, two sons, Curtis Fesler and Clinton Felster, both of Cameron, Illinois, and one brother, Richard Fesler of Berwick, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray.

A funeral service is planned for 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial is being established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
