Lu Anne Heatherly-Grant, age 66, of Nauvoo, Illinois, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 1:50 AM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. She was born May 27, 1954 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of George Leon and Louise Lucille (Thornton) Heatherly. Lu Anne attended schools locally, graduated from Monmouth High School, and attended Monmouth College. On December 9, 1978, she married Ron C. Grant in Biggsville, Illinois and he is surviving. Lu Anne held several jobs throughout her life, working for many as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, playing the Lottery, and volunteer work for whoever needed help. Mostly, she loved her family and spending time with her sisters. Lu Anne never met a stranger and was a proud survivor of breast cancer. LuAnne was a lover of life!
Lu Anne is survived by her husband Ron of Nauvoo, two daughters, Heather (Ben) Mills of Keokuk, Iowa and Holly Skees of Dallas City, Illinois, grandchildren, Izabella, Payton, Lauren, Gabby, Tristan, and Jeremy, three sisters, Leona (Robert) Luciano of Hyde Park, NY, Terri (Ken) St.George of Monmouth, IL, and Linda (Tom) Hawk of Monmouth, IL. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cheryl, and several other relatives.
As were Lu Anne's wishes, cremation is being accorded. Tentatively, a Celebration of Life is being planned for Thursday, May 27, 2021 with details to follow. Interment will be at Monmouth Cemetery. Memorials are being established for St. Jude Children's Hospital, Peoria Affiliate, the MS Organization of Peoria, or Illinois Cancer Care, also of Peoria.
