Mary E. (Johnson) Bellinger

Mary E. Bellinger, age 86, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away on Sunday August 15, 2021 at 7:05 pm at the Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Mary was born on May 21, 1935 in Adams County near Beverly, Illinois and is the daughter of Samuel Edward and Alberta Mae Daugherty Johnson. She attended local schools and Monmouth High School.  Mary married Lawrence C. Bellinger on June 25, 1955 in Oquawka, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2020. Mary first worked at Formfit of Monmouth as a floor girl, which she did for many years. She later worked at Dekalb Seed Corn in Monmouth where she sorted corn.  More recently she has been custodian at the Gerlaw Christian Church for a number of years.  Mary loved gardening and her flowers. She and Larry liked antiques often went to local sales. She also enjoyed helping at the library for the Warren County Genealogy Society. Surviving her is her son Randy (Bonny) Bellinger of Monmouth, Illinois and her sister, Kay Lewis also of Monmouth. She is survived by her step granddaughter, Tammy Stormer and step grandson Shawn Shafer and step great grandchildren, Michael Stormer, Destini Stormer, Zaine Trent, . There are also a number of nieces and nephews surviving. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, one son, Rodney, two sisters, Betty Mesick and Yvonne Johnson, and two brothers, Samuel "Junior" Johnson, and James Edward Johnson. 

A graveside funeral service is planned on Thursday at 11:00 am at Warren County Memorial Park. Her family would receive friends at visitation on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the graveside at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. A memorial fund is being established by her family at a later date.
