Robert "Coop" Cooper Obituary

Robert Lincoln "Coop" "Ace" Cooper, age 74, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 11:50 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Monmouth Nursing Home in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born November 2, 1946 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Abraham L. and Francis V. (Purnell) Cooper. Bob grew up in Monmouth and he attended local schools here. He worked at Russ Manual Motors, Munson Trucking, Lonnie's Texaco, and Painter Farm Equipment. Bob was a member of the Heritage Bible Church, attending Sunday services for a number of years. Bob was a member of the "Promise Keepers" of the Church, with his favorite song being "I'll Fly Away". Several times, his Church family assisted him in moving and he was beyond grateful. Bob was active in the community, serving on the Evening Lions Club and the Monmouth Jaycee's. He enjoyed tractors, belonging to the local Antique Tractor Club and many will remember him waving to the crowds at the Annual Prime Beef Festival Parade. Mostly, Bob enjoyed his family and friends. He never met a stranger.

Bob is survived by his family; Dottie and Elmo Ferrenburg of Monmouth, Illinois, Debra Ferrenburg of Blue Grass, Iowa, Kathy Ferrenburg of Monmouth, Illinois, Wayne and Becky Ferrenburg of Monmouth, Illinois, Amy and David Self of Montrose, Colorado, Dora Pearcey of Windsor, Colorado, Betty Fugitt of Morton, Illinois, and Phil Cooper of Little York, Illinois and many other cousins and friends throughout the area. Bob is preceded in death by his parents.
