Roger Dean Hank, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away on November 16, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois.
Roger was born on May 12, 1934, in Wapello to William J. and Edith Sarah (nee Babbitt) Hank. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, Illinois
and attended the Monmouth Public Schools. In 1952 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served through 1956.
After his service in the Air Force, he returned to Monmouth. He was a Custodian at Garfield Elementary School, then a Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer
while he ran the Western Stoneware Showroom and the Gold House Antiques. He moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and he returned to Galesburg in 1987.
Roger was married to Georgia Louise Rubison Murray on August 13, 1971. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Galesburg, Illinois.
He was a member of the #136 Monmouth Post, American Legion and Lodge 37 of the Masons. He is survived by his wife, Louise, his daughter Nancy (Kevin) Terpening of Knoxville, Illinois and son, James Engstrom of Galesburg, Illinois plus numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister, Georgia Hank Metcalf of Monmouth, Illinois,
two step-sons, Russell Murray of Boulder City, Nevada and Bryan (Linda) Murray of Monmouth, Illinois. There are three step-daughters, Paula (Larry) Coats of Pasada Springs, Colorado;
Kathy Coursey, of Galesburg, Illinois and Carol Ann Murray,of San Clemente, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kathryn Langwell, infant brother, Raymond Hank, brothers Bill Hank and Leland Hank, three sisters, Martha Brown, Maxine Short, and Mary Creamer and an infant son.
Cremation rites were accorded. Interment will be held at a later date. No services are planned.
