Roger F. Kellogg, age 65, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at his Monmouth residence on March 20, 2020 at 12:15 pm. Roger was born on June 7th, 1954 and is the son of Frank and Erma Howe Kellogg. Roger was raised in Monmouth where he attended local publics schools and Monmouth High School. He graduated from High School with the class of 1972. He began work at the garage with his father, Frank and later operated the shop from 1982 to 2003. He also was employed as a mechanic for Shearer's Bakery in Burlington, Iowa and retired in 2019. Roger was previously married to Elena Almaguer. Roger loved to do mechanical work and loved to work with his hands. Roger also loved Martial Arts and was a Black Belt at Kuk Sool Won in Monmouth. He did Hapkido and studied Judo, and taught self defense at Jamieson Community Center through Young Americans. Roger loved science and loved to read, especially science fiction.
He is survived by five daughters, Jeni Twist (Mike) of Athens, Illinois, Jesi Spears (Pat) of Monmouth, Illinois, Jaki Kellogg of Monmouth, Illinois, Jodi Brown (James) of Alexis, Illinois, and Joni Kellogg (Bryon) of Champaign, Illinois. Grandchildren surviving are, Cady Conard, Christian Hank, Ana Hank, Ethan Brown, Jonathon Brown, and Roger Brown, Steven Giles and Layla Giles, Liam Spears and Neely Spears. Preceding Roger in his death are his parents, grandparents, and his brother Gary.
A private graveside committal of his cremated remains is planned at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service for Roger F. Kellogg will be planned at a later date by his family.
