Roy T. Faudree

Roy T.. Faudree, age 73, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 9:19 pm on October 14, 2021 in Peoria, Illinois at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Roy was born on April 20, 1948 in Quincy, Illinois and is the son of Wendell A. and Violet M. Gilbert Faudree. Roy was raised in Kirkwood, Illinois where he attended local schools and Yorkwood High School. After high school Roy served his country in the United States Army where he was a Spec 4 in Viet Nam for several years. After service and returning home, Roy married Katherine Mattson. He later was to married Cynthia Sue Chapman on May 3, 1980 in Galesburg, Illinois and she preceded him in death. Roy began work at OMC Gale Products in Galesburg, until it closed, where he was in line production and later was supervisor to an area for twelve years. He was a member of Labor Union #309 until  his retirement. Roy loved duck hunting, boating, fishing,shooting and his dogs. His pride and joy was his 1970 AMC Rebel Machine which he was known for. Roy had Roy's Yard Service and did mowing for people locally.  He is a member of the " Fin and Feathers " Club of Fairview, Illinois and the Galesburg Rifle Range.  He is survived by his two sons, Christopher R. Faudree and Tricia of Oquawka, Illinois and Matthew C. Faudree and Maria Azimova of Aurora, Illinois. Two Grandsons, Christopher D. Faudree and Alexander A. Faudree and two sisters, Renee Spence of Kirkwood, Illinois and Sally Bishop and Barry of Monmouth, Illinois, one brother, Blaine Faudree and Jean of Media, Illinois. A number of Nieces and Nephews and other relatives also survive, 
His parents, wife, mother and father in law, two brothers in law, and his dog "Lucy" precede him in his death. 

Roy/'s wishes were to be cremated and his family plans Military Honor to be presented at 10:00 am October 25, 2021 at Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Illinois followed by a gathering of his family at the cemetery. No viewing or visitation is planned currently at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth who is in charge of his care.
