Verna Annabella Jones, age 89, of Monmouth, Illinois; passed away at 7:39 am on Monday January 31, 2022 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, Illinois. Annabella was born on February 24, 1932 in Macomb, Illinois and is the daughter of John Lewis and Katherine Doole Jones. She was raised and educated in Roseville, Illinois and was never married. She is survived by two nieces, Marilyn Sargent and Dwight of Monmouth, and Sharon L. Doole of Dan Diego, CA. There is one nephew surviving, Donald of Oquawka, IL. and many great nieces and nephews surviving her. She is preceded in her death by her parents, two foster brothers, John and Paul Doole, a niece, Myrna Wixson and nephew Wendell Doole.

A graveside service for Verna Annabella Jones is planned on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery in Roseville, Illinois. Friends may call at the Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth on Monday and Tuesday prior to the service. No visitation is currently being planned by her family. A memorial fund is being established for either Western Illinois Animal Rescue, or Achievement Industries Transportation, or the First Christian Church.
